Lil’ Wayne Crumbles Oreo’s World Record
This past Wednesday, Lil Wayne broke the Guinness World Record for the most ‘Likes’ on a single Facebook post within a 24-hour period – controversially eclipsing the record set by biscuit brand Oreo only 5-hours earlier.
Oreo Cookies announced their intended world record attempt this past Tuesday with a call-to-action posted on their Facebook wall: “‘Like’ this post to join Oreo fans around the world in setting a Guinness World Record for most “Likes” to a post in 24 hours. Ryan Leslie’s Australian Sojourn
A stealthy Ryan Leslie touched down in Australia last week to support his Aussie model girlfriend, Nicole Trufino, as she strode the runway for retail giant David Jones at the LÓreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.
“We’re on and off all the time,” Trunfio revealed to PerthNow of her relationship with Leslie. “It’s hard with travelling and stuff but he’s an amazing, really intelligent man, a really supportive boyfriend, always there no matter what. 2010 ARIA Sales Figures
The Australian Recording Industry Association [ARIA] have released their 2010 Wholesale Sales Figures report highlighting key sales trends in the Australian music market during the past year.
Revelations in the report include CD album sales suffering a 21% decline in value over 2010, while still representing $252 million in annual revenue to the industry. Meanwhile, digital music sales rose 30% last year with close to 50 million digital tracks sold. The overall dollar value of the music industry was down 13.9% on 2009. Continue reading »
Bruno Mars to Plead Guilty in Cocaine Case
Bruno Mars will plead guilty to a charge of cocaine posession following his arrest last September in Las Vegas after being found in posession of a “baggy of white cocaine” at, ironically, the Hard Rock Hotel.
According to Clark County District Attorney David Roger, the pop singer/songwriter will be placed on a one-year probation requiring he attend drug counselling sessions and perform 200 hours of commmunity service, in addition to paying a $2,000 fine. Roger also confirmed Mars may withdraw his guilty plea and have his cased dismissed upon completing the sentence without incident. Continue reading »
