Odd Future To Play Sydney Opera House

Riotous Hip-Hop collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All will play the prestigious Sydney Opera House as part of winter music festival Vivid LIVE 2011. The 10-man crew out of Los Angeles will perform in the intimate Studio room, with a capacity between 220-350, on the 1st and 2nd June at 10pm. Tickets are $40 and go on sale at 9am on 4th April.
The excitement swirling around them is astonishing. Only last year this California-based crew became the unlikely focal point for a creative renaissance in the music industry.
Within months of forming, their aimless skateboarding antics and DIY aesthetic had the major music press fixated. The music itself has received critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, Fader and the New York Times. Their television debut featuring Tyler the Creator and Hodgy Beats on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ proved the hype was more than justified.
Talented, hilarious, villainous, immature, precocious, and viral, OFWGKTA live by a code: if something is cool, it’s swagged out. If it’s not, forget it.
From grass-roots enthusiasm on Twitter and Tumblr to serious attention from the mainstream press, their lewd, nihilistic and disrespectful reply to pop culture is about to go global. Come witness the sheer talent behind the smokescreen of mythology, before they take over the world.
Visit the official Vivid LIVE site here for more information and watch Odd Future‘s performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon after the jump: Continue reading »

In addition to an all black colourway, the limited edition ?uestlove Dunk has also been released in more confronting shades of yellow and red. “I always opt against taking the easy way out. Nike’s Holy Grail Discovered
Melissa Bowerman unknowingly discovered the holy grail of sportwear relics when she pulled a rusted waffle iron out from the back of her storage cupboard, reported Oregon Live last week. Believed lost decades ago, the rusted appliance is the original waffle iron used by her father-in-law, Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, in creating the innovative treaded sole that would be adopted by Nike’s breakthrough Waffle Trainer.
As Nike historian Scott Reames explained of the discovery, “It truly is the headwaters of our innovation. From a historian’s standpoint, it’s like finding the Titanic.” Continue reading »
